Overview
As a Field Auto Appraiser at Allstate, you will be at the forefront of our claims process—meeting customers where they are, whether at their home, a repair shop, or a tow yard. You will take the lead in writing estimates and guiding customers through the repair or total loss process using a mix of in‑person visits, virtual inspections, and written communication.
Sign‑OnBonus
Sign‑On Bonus: A $5,000 sign‑on bonus may be offered to qualified candidates who receive and accept an employment offer. Eligibility, payment timing, and conditions will be outlined in the official offer letter.
A sign‑on bonus of $1,000 is also available for candidates who hold an active appraiser license in Rhode Island or a licensed adjuster in Texas, Florida, or the candidate’s resident state (current employees and those previously employed by Allstate are not eligible).
Day in the Life– Key Responsibilities
- Act as the customer service expert by caring, empowering, and restoring, practicing empathy and clear communication for each casualty claim.
- Investigate casualty claims, review damage in detail, interpret policies, and determine coverage.
- Communicate with customers via phone, email, and video chat to explain the claims process and provide regular updates.
- Negotiate claims settlements with customers, vendors, third‑party carriers, and claimants using legal and business methodologies, handling challenging situations with tactical approaches.
- Utilize estimates tools, job aids, and settlement platforms, applying critical thinking to deliver results in a fast‑paced environment.
- Document claims accurately and in line with policy agreements, maintaining clear, timely records in the claims system.
- 3–5 years of auto collision estimating experience using CCC or Mitchell.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills for customer interaction.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce precise, comprehensive estimates.
- Comfortable with technology and various claims‑processing platforms.
- Excellent time‑management and organizational skills to manage multiple assignments.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as part of the job responsibilities.
This position is field‑based and requires the applicant to be located in Rhode Island or Massachusetts. The role may qualify for a company car based on annual work mileage; until guidelines are met, a personal vehicle may be used with mileage reimbursements. Training is held for two weeks in Dallas, TX.
Licensing RequirementsApplicants must obtain an adjuster’s license in multiple markets and an appraiser license in Rhode Island within 60 days of hire. All required licenses must be maintained, including continuing education and renewal obligations.
SalaryCompensation is $60,000.00 – $ annually, based on experience and qualifications.
