Auto-Owners Insurance, a top‑rated insurance carrier, is seeking a motivated individual to join our Actuarial Division as a Actuarial Analyst
. The role is responsible for creating pricing plans to support our growth and profitability objectives.
We offer a merit‑based work‑from‑home program. After initial in‑person training, this role may work from home up to three days per week. Candidates must also be able to work from our home office in Lansing, Michigan from time to time. Fully remote positions are not being considered.
Responsibilities- Evaluate frequency, severity, and premium trends to project future losses based on historical loss data.
- Become familiar with and apply insurance manuals and principles.
- Organize and provide management with reports to aid decision making.
- Communicate effectively with other employees through verbal and written means.
- Participate in both formal and informal training sessions.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or another related technical field.
- High aptitude for mathematics and actuarial sciences.
- Actuarial exams are considered but not required.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL, R, or other programming/database/statistical languages.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Access.
- Above‑average written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to constant change and innovation.
