Role DescriptionThe Claims Adjuster III is a full‑time, hybrid role based in Plano, TX, with flexibility for partial work from home. This role is responsible for handling complex auto insurance claims from initial notification through resolution, including investigation, evaluation, and settlement within established authority limits.
Day‑to‑day responsibilities include reviewing policy coverage, assessing liability and property damage, gathering statements and documentation, and communicating with policyholders, claimants, agents, and vendors.
The Claims Adjuster III will negotiate settlements on attorney represented casualty claims, maintain accurate claim documentation, and ensure compliance with company guidelines, regulatory requirements, and best practices. The role also involves mentoring less experienced adjusters, contributing to process improvements, and supporting a high level of customer service and operational efficiency.
Qualifications- Strong skills in claims handling and claims management for complex auto insurance cases.
- In‑depth knowledge of insurance principles and insurance claims processes, especially non‑standard auto.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate bodily injury demands from plaintiff attorneys and negotiate settlements consistent with relevant law and best claims practices.
- Ability to interpret policy language, apply coverage determinations, and make sound judgment‑based decisions.
- Several years of experience as a mid‑to‑senior‑level claims adjuster, ideally in auto or specialty lines.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict‑resolution skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time‑management abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Comfort working in a hybrid environment in Plano, TX, using claims systems and common office software.
- Relevant professional designations (such as AIC or CPCU) and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience are preferred.
