Responsibilities
- Review and comply with all individual State requirements regarding any fire escrow or settlement/depreciation requirements.
- Travel to loss sites and conduct thorough inspections of properties with policy holders, public adjusters or contractors.
- Assign origin and cause inspectors or engineers as needed.
- Align with subrogation advocates and special investigation unit adjusters to obtain needed information.
- Write accurate estimates utilizing Xactimate to capture extent of damage per policy interpretation.
- Accurately adjust reserves throughout the claim handling process.
- Settle claims promptly and fairly, adhering to customer policies.
- Utilize advanced video technology for remote collaboration and estimating.
- Review policies to determine coverage and provide detailed explanations to customers.
- Communicate empathetically with customers, guiding them through the claim process.
- Negotiate claim settlements in accordance with established methodologies.
- Work in various environments, including independent and team settings, and virtual platforms.
- Handle claims, collaborate with vendors and other adjusters, and keep customers informed throughout the process.
- Participate in online meetings and trainings, including being on camera as required.
- Handle daily tasks with policy holders or internal communications in a timely manner.
- Maintain high level desk management skills.
- Maintain all metrics aligned with job requirements.
Roles & Responsibilities (Hats)
- Customer Service Expert - live into Allstate's Claims Culture by caring, empowering, and restoring, and lead with empathy.
- Investigator - confidently investigate property claims by performing detailed reviews and interpreting policies.
- Effective Communicator - use phone, email, text and occasional video chat to guide customers through fast, fair processes.
- Negotiator - evaluate and negotiate settlements with customers, vendors, public adjusters, third‑party carriers and claimants.
- Problem Solver - use multiple tools to get the job done in a fast‑paced environment.
- Recorder - protect company financially by executing policies, keeping clear records in the claims system.
- During training:
Monday‑Friday 8:00 AM‑5:00 PM. - After training: 10 days on / 4 days off, 8‑12 hours per day.
- Field position requires up to 90% travel out of town.
- Required to attend 2‑week training program in Dallas, TX.
- Residence in Eastern Time Zone.
- 4‑6+ years of experience writing fire & water damage estimates.
- Experience handling large loss claims.
- Previous experience as a property adjuster.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as Xactimate.
- Strong focus on exceptional customer service.
- Ability to work independently, including from home, with travel east of the Mississippi River.
- Proactive problem‑solving skills and positive attitude toward challenges.
- Excellent organization and multitasking abilities.
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional desk management skills.
- Construction background preferred with knowledge of residential building methods.
- Maintain continuing education requirements for licensing.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
- Residency within 50 miles of a major airport.
As a condition of employment, you may need to obtain an adjuster and/or appraiser license. If required, you must secure license(s) within 60 days of hire. All applicants holding an active insurance license must terminate existing appointments before onboarding and may not hold outside appointments during employment.
Compensation & BenefitsSalary range $68,500 to $117,700 annually, based on experience, qualifications, location and internal equity.
- Sign‑On Bonus: $1,000 licensing sign‑on bonus if applicable licenses held.
