Job Description
National General is seeking an experienced Field Property Adjuster to manage property claims in the Sacramento, CA area. In this role, you will investigate and validate loss details, determine coverage, assess damages, and negotiate settlements. You will be responsible for creating and/or auditing comprehensive, accurate estimates for first‑party property claims to support fair and timely claim resolution. This position requires on‑site inspections and the ability to clearly communicate findings and next steps to customers and stakeholders, ensuring a positive and efficient experience.
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of field property claims experience, strong proficiency with Xactimate
, and demonstrated experience writing estimates on‑site. Candidates must be highly organized
, detail‑oriented, and possess solid knowledge of residential dwelling construction.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential
, along with the ability to manage multiple claims effectively. This is a field‑based role, so candidates must currently reside in the Sacramento, CA area.
- Negotiates settlements, makes settlement payments and documents all activities in the most complex of files across multiple lines
- Evaluates settlement alternatives by reviewing regulatory compliance and fair claims practices; makes decisions on best option
- Builds mastered relationships with both internal and external customers across multiple lines
- Possesses strong estimating fundamentals in order to create or audit estimates of damages on 1st party homeowners' losses with complexity
- Possesses a deep understanding of the content of all policy types written by the company
