• Support new business production and servicing of Emerging Account business for an assigned group of producers while fostering strong producer partnerships and supporting overall growth.
• Build strong relationships with brokers through service excellence to meet or exceed financial goals, including growth, profit, retention, and new business.
• Solicit accounts, select and analyze risks, and draft corresponding documentation, pricing, and marketing of Berkley Life Sciences products and services for new and existing customers.
• Act as a key contributor to the team’s business development results for assigned producers.
• Identify opportunities for account rounding.
• Provide technical support to producers and insureds.
• Stay current with all compliance, procedural and workflow changes.
• Demonstrate continuous learning, including participation in underwriting training and life sciences industry education.
• Work collaboratively and effectively with underwriting teammates, operations, legal, home office underwriting, and claims.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills; communication style is flexible to the situation.
• Calm under pressure, excellent organizational skills, integrity, and great follow-through on tasks; comfortable challenging norms while collaborating with colleagues at all levels.
• A strong sense of accountability, fun, and adventure.
• Proven track record of building and maintaining strong business relationships with insureds, agents, and brokers.
• A strong customer service bias; known for responsiveness and ability to preserve relationships.
• Natural curiosity and a love of learning how things work, always seeking innovative improvements.
• Analytical mind, adept at diving into account details to craft pricing and coverage that meet underwriting guidelines, profitability models, and customer needs.
• Minimum of 2 years underwriting or associate underwriting experience in products liability, property, workers compensation, automobile, and umbrella.
• Claims‑made experience a plus.
• Life Sciences Products Liability experience a plus.
• Travel opportunities, primarily to build relationships with assigned producers through service excellence and reliability.

• Base Salary Range: 70,000–105,000 USD.
• Eligible to participate in annual discretionary bonus.

The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
