Role Description The Senior Claims Representative is a full-time position responsible for managing a caseload of complex claims from initial assignment through resolution. Based in Overland Park, KS, this hybrid role combines in-office work with flexibility to work from home part of the time. Daily responsibilities include investigating claims, evaluating coverage, assessing liability and damages, and determining appropriate reserves. The role involves coordinating with policyholders, claimants, attorneys, and vendors, as well as negotiating settlements within authority limits and ensuring timely, accurate documentation in claims systems.
The Senior Claims Representative also supports continuous improvement by identifying trends, contributing to process enhancements, and maintaining compliance with applicable regulations and company standards.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in Claims Handling and Claims Management, including investigation, evaluation, and resolution of complex claims.
- Strong knowledge of Insurance principles and practices, with experience in property and casualty lines and related regulatory requirements.
- Hands-on experience with Property Damage claims, including estimating losses, coordinating inspections, and working with vendors or adjusters.
- Proven Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, manage expectations, and maintain professional relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Relevant experience in risk management or claims environments, preferably in a corporate or third-party administrator setting.
- Ability to analyze data, make sound decisions, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Proficiency with claims management systems and standard office software.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience; industry certifications (e.g., AIC, CPCU) are a plus.
