Joining Sedgwick means being part of something truly meaningful. It's what our 33,000 colleagues do every day for people around the world who are facing the unexpected. We invite you to grow your career with us, experience our caring culture, and enjoy work-life balance. Here, there's no limit to what you can achieve.

Sedgwick Germany GmbH, based in Düsseldorf, is part of the internationally operating Sedgwick Group – a leading provider of services in the areas of claims management, risk analysis, and expert assessment.

In Germany, we combine the structures and stability of a corporation with the flexibility and proximity of a medium-sized enterprise. Our customers, predominantly from the insurance industry, can rely on our expertise in claims settlement, true to our motto "we care".

To strengthen our team, we are looking for an experienced and dedicated Technical Assessor (m/f/d) for claims/insurance for the greater Berlin area.

What You Enjoy Doing:

  • Helping people whose homes were damaged by an event. Supporting businesses whose operations came to a standstill and individuals whose projects were unexpectedly disrupted.
  • Independent processing and settlement of property and liability claims with a focus on building damages (construction and civil engineering)
  • Conducting on-site inspections and damage assessments
  • Independently creating assessments, reports, and statements
  • Evaluating causes of damage, extent of damage, and restoration costs
  • Coordinating and liaising with all relevant parties (insurers, policyholders, service providers, experts, etc.)
  • Ensuring quality- and customer-oriented claims processing

What We Wish For:

  • Completed studies in engineering (e.g., civil engineering, architecture, mechanical engineering), a degree as a state-certified technician, or a comparable qualification
  • Several years of professional experience in one of the above fields
  • Solid knowledge in the area of building damages
  • Good knowledge in construction and civil engineering is an advantage
  • Analytical thinking and strong problem-solving skills
  • Independent and structured working style
  • Strong communication skills and customer orientation
  • Driver's license class B

For major damages, you will work closely with senior management and be prepared to travel within your region as part of your duties.

What We Offer:

  • You can expect a varied job in an engaged team with the advantages of an international corporation and the culture of a medium-sized enterprise.
  • Development as a loss adjuster in the major and complex loss area. Damages of all lines of business are processed from both the technical and insurance perspectives, and with increasing experience, European and international operations are also taken over.
  • We maintain flat hierarchies and short decision-making paths. Our working hours are flexible, and you can work 100% remotely – including technical equipment for your home office. Of course, you are always welcome in our offices.
  • A company car with private use is provided.
  • We offer free training opportunities through Workday Learning and the Sedgwick University as well as attractive additional benefits like the Wellpass for sports and relaxation, bicycle leasing, and profit-sharing.
  • You receive 30 vacation days plus additional days off on December 24th and 31st. And last but not least: office dogs are welcome here.

A collegial atmosphere is particularly important to us – with people who are approachable, listen, and like to help.
