Job Summary:The Risk Management Insurance Analyst works in a team environment and performs professional level tasks associated with insurance indemnification. and other contractual risk transfer issues. The responsibilities of the position include review, verification, approval, and management of Certificates of Insurance (COi) and insurance endorsements submitted by contractors, public entities, third parties, and others working with ADOT, or within ADOT Right Of Way.
In addition, the Insurance Analyst will provide insurance expertise and guidance to the Agency with respect to insurance and self-insurance coverage, programs, requirements and services; working with ADOA Risk Management.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:Review COIs and endorsements of varying complexity for compliance ensuring proper types and limits of insurance or self-insurance are in place; ensure acceptable AM Best Rating of insurers listed on COIs. Integrate information into appropriate database and spreadsheets.
Ensure appropriate risk transfer (indemnification) language is included in contracts. Ensure compliance with Arizona Revised Statutes, Arizona Administrative Code for any/all contract assignments including:
Intergovernmental Agreements, Joint Project Agreements, third-party contracts, and vendor contracts.
Manage or assist with special projects. Collect and record data and information from reports. Provide customer service to internal and external customers with expertise and guidance regarding Insurance Issues; discuss via phone calls or virtual meetings issues with insurance requirements.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):Knowledge of:
- State and federal insurance laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Risk Management concepts and techniques appropriate to assignment.
- Local and national insurance industry standards, concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Multiple lines of commercial insurance; general, auto, work comp, etc.
- Microsoft and Google suite products.
Skills in:
- Identifying misleading, ambiguous, and deceptive language on contracts, endorsements, certificates and other business documents.
- Evaluating in risk exposure and identifying appropriate types and limits of insurance coverage to eliminate.
- Negotiation and conflict resolution.
- Strong written and oral communication.
- Planning, organizational, analytical, problem solving, and prioritizing skills
Ability to:
- Apply state and federal insurance law, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Apply insurance industry concepts and techniques.
- Work independently and as a team.
- Share knowledge, collaborate with peers.
- Analyze, interpret, and evaluate insurance contracts.
- Use a computer and computer based programs.
2-4 years with commercial insurance products, policies, contracts, endorsements and coverage. Experience either on the agency side or claims side.
Pre-Employment Requirements:Valid driver's license and an acceptable 39 month driving record.
