Florida Casualty Claim Specialist – The Auto Club Group
Reports to:
Claim Manager II
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Review assigned claims.
- Contact insured and other parties.
- Set expectations for claim process and document activities.
- Complete complex coverage analysis.
- Ensure all possible policyholder benefits identified.
- Investigate facts regarding the claim.
- Determine whether claim should be paid and confirm recovery potential.
- Review damages and determine applicability of state law and other factors.
- Refer claims to other units when appropriate.
- Use strong critical thinking and negotiation skills.
- Handle both attorney represented and unrepresented claimants with injury claims that may involve coverage investigation, liability disputes, bodily injuries, and litigation.
- Assist Claim Manager with file reviews and training.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary ranges from $68,000 to $78,000 annually with potential annual bonus.

- Degree in Business Administration, Insurance, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Completion of Insurance Institute of America’s General Insurance Program, Associate in Claims, Associate in Management, or equivalent.
- Completed CPCU coursework or designation.
- Florida State Adjuster License if required by state.
- Valid State Driver’s License.
- In‑state degree in Business Administration, Insurance, or related field.
Experience
- Three years of negotiation of claim settlements.
- Evaluation of injury claims.
- Securing and evaluating evidence.
- Subrogation claims.
- Coverage analysis and resolution of coverage questions.
- Taking statements.
- Establishing clear claim evaluation and resolution plans.
- Fair Trade Practices Act related to claims.
- Subrogation including intercompany arbitration.
- Litigation related to claims.
- Negligence Law.
- No-Fault Law.
- Medical terminology and human anatomy.
- Apply ACG claim policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Work within ACG claim systems and PC software.
- Perform claim file review and investigations.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Customer service skills; build and maintain relationships.
- Analyze and solve problems; sound decision making.
- Prioritize claim-related tasks.
- Process time-sensitive data from multiple sources.
- Manage time, organize, and plan workload.
- Reside within 50 miles of Tampa, Florida.
This is a hybrid arrangement; employees will have a mix of office and remote work. Attendance at important departmental meetings and team-building events is required.
