Great American Insurance Group invites experienced professionals to join Strategic Comp as a Senior Loss Control Consultant. This remote position covers the territory from Hartford, CT to Buffalo, NY.
Strategic Comp is part of Great American Insurance Group, engaged in property and casualty insurance focusing on specialty commercial products.
Responsibilities- Survey and service commercial risks for workers’ compensation coverage.
- Origin and manage all service account scheduling and activities within the assigned territory.
- Meet or exceed all service standards and participate in team activities to retain accounts.
- Provide risk improvement through management consultation, hazard‑control recommendations, and direct support services to insureds.
- Conduct loss control services and training to reduce losses.
- Maintain specialized knowledge of company policies, procedures, and relevant federal, state, and other codes for property, liability, and casualty lines.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- At least 13 years of loss control experience with a major workers’ compensation insurer.
- Strong workers’ compensation knowledge and the ability to conduct client training programs.
- Basic underwriting and product management skills.
- Broad knowledge of commercial lines, engineering principles, loss control concepts, and safety standards and codes.
- Competency in computers and software programs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Residency in the specified territory.
- Professional designations such as ARM, CPCU, Certified Engineering Technician, or Certified Safety Professional are viewed favorably.
- Progress toward (or completion of) designations such as CSP, ARM, CSHMS, ALCM, or OHST is preferred.
Salary ranges from $104,000 to $137,000, plus an annual discretionary bonus. The role includes a company car, remote work, and up to 60% travel (including overnight) within the territory.
