We are currently seeking an
Inland Marine
Underwriting Specialist to grow and manage a profitable portfolio of Inland Marine business through independent and National Agency partners.

The underwriter will evaluate, select, price, and service Inland Marine risks while maintaining strong agency relationships and delivering excellent customer service.

This position partners closely with agents, distribution leaders, Inland Marine Director, Risk Control, Claims, and Product Management teams to achieve underwriting profitability, growth objectives, and strategic initiatives.

This position can be located to work from our home office in Sarasota, FL or any of our regional offices and is eligible for a hybrid schedule of three days in the office and two days from home.

The salary range for this position is $102,357-$157,629 annually. This salary range is an estimate and the actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Qualifications Skills Behaviors Motivations Education Experience Required
  • Five years of Commercial property and casualty underwriting experience
  • Five years of Inland Marine Underwriting experience
  • Strong knowledge of Inland Marine marketplace with emphasis on Contractors equipment, Builder’s Risk, Installation Floaters, Transportation/Property in Transit and Miscellaneous Inland Marine
  • Understanding of inland marine policy forms, endorsements, rating concepts and coverage analysis
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to analyze, define and solve problems; the use of good judgment and decision-making
  • Advanced ability to determine customer needs, provide solutions and price business appropriately
Preferred
  • CPCU, ARM, AU and/or CIC, designation preferred
