- This range represents a national range and the actual salary will depend on several factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the skills, education, training, credentials, location (State) based on ERIE's geographical differences, and experience of an applicant, as well as level of role for which the successful candidate is hired. Position may be eligible for an annual bonus payment.

Position SummaryExercises independent discretion or judgment in handling property claims within designated level of authority. Also responsible for servicing assigned territory and may handle litigated claims.
- This position operates from a home office but requires daily travel to conduct property inspections within the assigned territory.
- The selected candidate will ideally live in Allegheny County or the close surrounding areas.
- A company car and equipment to work from home will be provided.
- Good time management and organization skills preferred.
- Ability to drive/travel regularly within the assigned territory.
- The hiring manager will also consider candidates for Property Adjuster II. Level of position offered will be based upon the depth and breadth of selected candidate's experience and qualifications.
- Contact policyholders regarding property claims within level of authority. Conduct investigations, interview insureds and witnesses, inspect damage and prepare estimates. Evaluate and make recommendations regarding coverage of claims.
- Handle property claims within designated authority. Set and maintain adequate reserves. Obtain and review reports, statements, records and related materials as required. Evaluate information to determine coverage and total value of claim. Determine payments and issue checks or decline payment as required.
- Document claim files and submit final report to file for closure.
- Identify subrogation situations and initiate appropriate action.
- Serve assigned territory and bring assigned claims to conclusion.
- Interact with agents and district sales managers on matters of mutual concern.
- Handle property claims involving damages or coverage. May handle litigated claims, including negotiating with plaintiff attorneys, or coordinate litigation with defense counsel as required.
