Listed within this posting is the anticipated salary range for this position, plus variable incentive compensation. The final salary offered to a successful candidate may vary and will be dependent on several factors that include, but are not limited to, your business experience, education, and individual capacity. Support the Commercial Business Team during the summer of 2027. This position is for individuals currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing career opportunities in Risk and Insurance Management or related field.

• Support Underwriting through the performance of specific tasks – including, but not limited to underwriting of new business files, processing policy changes, and review of supplemental information (loss runs, MVR's, financial data, inspections, etc.)
• Receive hands-on training in a variety of areas including Harford Mutual appetite, target classes, underwriting processes, systems, and general insurance knowledge
• Collaborate with other intern(s) to create and present a project on a to-be-determined underwriting topic to senior management

• Must be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Risk and Insurance Management or related field.

• Strong collaborating skills, and an ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines; high energy, self-motivated and proactive

• Coached and mentored by Harford Mutual leadership.
• Acquire relevant underwriting experience.
• Gain technical foundation and acquire leadership skills, along with cross-functional process knowledge.
• Work on tasks that have a measurable impact on our business.
