If you’re passionate about helping people protect what matters most to them, Nationwide’s Property and Casualty team seeks an associate who is eager to deliver extraordinary care and innovation in a Fortune 100 environment.
Territory & Location- Albuquerque, NM and surrounding areas
- Work‑from‑home position with on‑site travel 3‑4 days a week and occasional overnight travel
- Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates >50 miles from territory
- 3‑5 years of field/property claims handling or adjusting experience
- Proficiency with Xactimate and ability to write estimates and manage claims from start to finish
- Construction background (residential, roofing, remodeling, water mitigation, etc.)
- Strong customer service, written and verbal communication skills
- CAT duty is required
- State licensing where required
- Obtain Xactimate Level 1 within 1 year, Level 2 within 2 years
- Handle assigned claims promptly and effectively with minimal oversight
- Determine proper policy coverages and apply claim practices per company guidelines
- Open, close, and adjust reserves to ensure adequacy; perform file conferencing and authorization as needed
- Maintain current knowledge of insurance products, court decisions, product changes, and local repair procedures
- Submit severe incident reports, reinsurance reports, and other required information to management
- Partner with Special Investigations Unit and Subrogation to identify fraud and subrogation opportunities; assist or prepare files for lawsuit or trial
- Initiate and conduct follow‑ups using claims and related business systems
- Deliver outstanding customer service to internal, external, current, and prospective customers
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
- Successful completion of required claims certification or training classes
- No overtime; exempt status
- Normal office or field environment; physical inspections of property loss sites; ladder use up to 8/12 pitch required
- Must be willing to work irregular hours, travel with possible overnight duties, be on‑call, and handle catastrophe (CAT) claims
- Valid driver’s license with satisfactory record
- Credit/background check required
