We are looking to hire the right candidate as an Underwriter in our Commercial Underwriting Unit. This position involves evaluating risks for Workers’ Compensation, Business owners’, Commercial Auto, Professional Liability, and Umbrella policies for small businesses. This is a hybrid position requiring both in office and remote work in Stamford, CT.

Job Responsibilities Underwriting & Risk Assessment- Underwrite and manage new and renewal Commercial Property & Casualty accounts within assigned authority.
- Evaluate risks using company underwriting guidelines across multiple lines of business.
- Analyze exposures, determine pricing, and establish appropriate coverage terms, limits, deductibles, and conditions.
- Conduct independent research and verification of insured operations using available resources and third-party tools.
- Review and process policy endorsements, account changes, and servicing requests for in-force business.
- Evaluate renewal accounts and develop strategies that support profitability, retention, and growth objectives.
- Maintain accurate underwriting documentation and records.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with agents and brokers.
- Provide responsive, professional service and underwriting support customers and business partners.
- Ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives, special projects, and other assigned responsibilities.
- Complete training on new products, systems, directives, and underwriting processes.
- Support onboarding and training of new team members as needed.
- 5+ years of Commercial Property & Casualty underwriting experience.
- Strong knowledge of commercial insurance coverages and underwriting principles.
- Excellent analytical, investigative, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in internet research and risk evaluation tools.
- Strong communication, customer service, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- CPCU, AU, ARM, or other insurance designations preferred.

In accordance with pay transparency laws and regulations, the following good faith compensation range estimate is being provided. The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $135,000 per year. Final compensation will be based on candidate qualifications, geographic location, and other considerations permitted by law.
