About the Role
Our client is actively seeking an experienced Senior Underwriter to join their established team, operating in a fully remote capacity. This critical role involves assessing and managing risks associated with commercial insurance policies, making informed decisions on policy terms, conditions, and pricing. As a remote expert, you will leverage your in-depth knowledge of the insurance market to evaluate complex submissions and contribute to the profitable growth of the business.
You will work independently, collaborating digitally with brokers, agents, and internal stakeholders to ensure optimal risk selection and underwriting excellence from the comfort of your home office.
- Evaluate and underwrite complex commercial insurance applications, assessing risks and determining appropriate policy terms and pricing.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and agents to foster business growth and provide expert support.
- Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines, regulatory requirements, and company strategies.
- Monitor portfolio performance and market trends, identifying opportunities and potential risks.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior underwriters and support staff.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of underwriting strategies and product offerings.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial insurance underwriting, with a proven track record.
- Strong understanding of commercial insurance products, risk assessment, and financial analysis.
- Excellent decision-making skills and the ability to analyze complex data sets.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage a diverse portfolio in a remote setting.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills for engaging with external partners and internal teams.
- Relevant professional designations (e.g., ACII, FLMI) are highly desirable.
