Global Language System LLC has an upcoming requirement for American Sign Language (ASL) Interpretation Services to help a client in the following Location

• Erie, PA
• Lebanon, PA
• Wilkes-Bares, PA
• Marion, IN

• ASL Interpreter shall provide onsite, unclassified ASL/English receptive and expressive simultaneous interpretation in a variety of settings, both alone and in teams, conveying all cultural, linguistic information embedded in the target message.
• Conveying the thought, intent, and spirit of a speaker to a deaf/hard of hearing person
• Interpreting/transliterating expressively and receptively using manual and oral methods of communication for the deaf and hard of hearing
• Maintain the confidentiality of information exchanged in an interpreting situation.
• Communicate effectively by signing, orally, and in writing.
• Keep detailed and accurate records.
• Meet schedules and timelines.

The qualified ASL Interpreter must

• possess advanced, accurate voicing skills to mediate both culturally and linguistically from spoken English to American Sign Language (ASL) and from ASL to spoken English in an equivalent manner.
• be familiar with the terminology and provisions of the American Disabilities Act (ADA).
• possess skills in a broad range of general interpreting assignments.
• possess a general knowledge of a variety of specialized vocabulary including some technical terms associated with the content they are interpreting. This includes but is not limited to specialized medical terminology, supply chain management technical jargon, and business vernacular.

The Candidate shall have at least one of the following certification:

• National Interpreter Certification (NIC)
• Certificate of Interpretation (CI)
• Certificate of Transliteration (CT)
