Mandinka Interpreter

Language Line Solutions is hiring a Mandinka Interpreter to work from home.

Position type:
Independent Contractor – No employee benefits.

Pay: $0.50–$0.65 per minute.

The Mandinka Telephone Interpreter handles on‑demand calls, translating between Mandinka and English speakers across industries such as healthcare, government, insurance, finance, utilities, travel & hospitality, general business, law enforcement, court, and 911. The role requires a quiet, secure, and private remote environment.

• Respond promptly to interpretation sessions and conduct sessions professionally and friendly.
• Render accurate concepts and meanings following established interpretation protocols, avoiding omissions or additions.
• Speak clearly in both languages with proper pronunciation, enunciation, and polite expressions.
• Maintain professionalism and remain calm, especially during emergencies or highly emotional calls.
• Stay punctual and available during assigned work hours.
• Follow client instructions and protocol; ensure the limited English‑speaking person (LEP) is not interacted with without client permission.
• Understand industry protocol and terminology (medical, insurance, finance, law).
• Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and work effectively in a diverse environment.
• Maintain required service standards in dynamic call volumes, including prolonged calls and high stress.

• Fluency in Mandinka and English, with knowledge of cultural dynamics and accent variations.
• Excellent listening, retention, and note‑taking skills for high accuracy.
• Ability to remain detached, neutral, and objective during sensitive conversations.
• Preferred education or experience in language‑related fields (teaching, assessment, translation, interpretation).
• Minimum age 18 and legal U.S. work authorization without future visa sponsorship.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Read and write both languages (highly preferred).
• Adaptability to technology enhancements that improve service delivery.

• Dedicated personal device for business: desktop/laptop (Windows, MacOS, or Chrome

• No Kaspersky products or Huawei hardware.
• High‑speed Internet: download ≥5

• Quiet space free from background noise or distraction.

• Operate keyboard and mouse; remain seated in front of a computer most of the day.
• Use company software and systems.
• Manual dexterity to type or write.
• Lift up to 26lbs.
• Possible exposure to moderate noise.
