Balochi Interpreter

Language Line Solutions is hiring a Balochi-English Phone Interpreter to work from home in the United States. The role is an independent contractor position and the interpreter will receive training and support.

The Balochi Telephone Interpreter is responsible for handling calls on demand and rendering the meaning of conversations between Balochi and English speakers across a variety of industries. The interpreter must be professional, courteous, and knowledgeable about industry terminology.

• Respond promptly to interpreting sessions and conduct interpretation in a friendly and professional manner.
• Render correct concepts and meanings in accordance with established interpretation protocol.
• Speak clearly in both languages using proper pronunciation, enunciation, and polite expressions.
• Maintain a professional demeanor throughout sessions.
• Remain calm during challenging situations and in emergencies.
• Maintain punctuality and availability during work hours.
• Follow client instructions and protocol, ensuring client expectations are met while respecting the Limited English‑speaking Person (LEP).
• Understand protocol and terminology for various industries such as medical, insurance, finance, and law.
• Demonstrate commitment to cultural sensitivity and diversity.
• Handle highly emotional and/or stressful calls, sometimes remaining on the line for extended periods without breaks.

• Fluency in Balochi and English, with cultural competency and awareness of regional and accent differences.
• Excellent listening, retention, and note‑taking skills for accurate interpretation.
• Ability to concentrate, remain neutral, and handle sensitive subject matter such as end‑of‑life conversations, pregnancy termination, vaccinations, and matters concerning sexual orientation and/or gender expression.
• Education or work experience in language‑related fields such as teaching, language assessment, translation, or interpretation is preferred.
• Minimum age 18 years.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States and no future visa sponsorship required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Read and write the required languages (highly preferred).

• Dedicated personal device for business purposes.

• Hardware not using Kaspersky products or Huawei devices.

• Quiet, background‑noise‑free workspace.

• Operate a keyboard and mouse and remain seated in front of a computer for the majority of the day.
• Operate company‑provided software and systems.
• Type or write with sufficient manual dexterity.
• Lift up to 26lb.
• May be exposed to moderate noise levels (computer, audio, telephone).
