Position Overview

The Mnong Telephone Interpreter is responsible for handling calls on demand, rendering the meaning of conversations between Mnong and English speakers across industries such as healthcare, government, insurance, finance, utilities, travel & hospitality, business, law enforcement, courts, and 911. This remote position requires a quiet, secure environment.

Essential Job Functions

• Respond to interpreting sessions promptly and conduct interpretation in a friendly, professional manner.
• Render correct concepts and meanings according to established interpretation protocol, avoiding omissions or additions.
• Speak clearly in both languages with proper pronunciation, enunciation and polite expressions.
• Maintain professional demeanor throughout sessions and remain calm during emergency or high‑stress calls.
• Adhere to client instructions and protocol, ensuring limited‑English‑speaking persons are not engaged without permission.
• Understand industry terminology for medical, insurance, finance, law, etc.
• Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and operate within a diverse environment.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Mnong and English with cultural competency knowledge.
• Excellent listening, retention and note‑taking skills, maintaining high accuracy.
• Ability to concentrate, remain detached and neutral during sensitive subjects.
• Education or experience in teaching, language assessment, translation or interpretation preferred.
• At least 18 years old, legally authorized to work in the United States, no visa sponsorship required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Adaptability to LLS technology enhancements.

• Quiet workspace free of background noise.

Physical Requirements

• Operate keyboard and mouse in a stationary position for the majority of the day.
• Manual dexterity for typing or writing.
• Lift up to 26lbs. (May be exposed to moderate noise levels).

Employment Type

Independent contractor; not eligible for employee benefits. Remote work from home in the United States.
