The Krahn Telephone Interpreter handles calls on demand, translating between Krahn and English speakers across industries such as healthcare, government, insurance, finance, utilities, travel, hospitality, business, law enforcement, courts, and 911. The interpreter processes information quickly, maintains cultural sensitivity, and uses appropriate terminology. This remote position requires a quiet, secure work environment.

• Respond promptly to interpreting sessions and conduct interpretation professionally.
• Render correct concepts and meanings according to established interpretation protocols.
• Speak clearly in both languages using proper pronunciation and polite expressions.
• Maintain a professional demeanor throughout sessions.
• Remain calm during sessions, especially in emergency situations.
• Maintain punctuality and availability during work hours.
• Follow client instructions and avoid unauthorized interaction with the Limited English‑speaking Person.
• Understand industry‑specific protocol and terminology, including medical, insurance, and finance.
• Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and work in a diverse environment.

• Fluency in Krahn and English with strong cultural competency.
• Excellent listening, retention, and note‑taking skills for high accuracy.
• Ability to concentrate, remain detached, and maintain neutrality during sensitive conversations.
• Education or relevant experience in translation, interpretation, or language teaching preferred.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring future visa sponsorship.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Read and write in the requested languages highly preferred.

• Dedicated personal device (desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone).
• Operating system:

• High‑speed internet: ≥5

  Mbps upload, ping ≤300ms, jitter ≤30ms.
• Quiet space free from background noise or distractions.

• Operate a keyboard and mouse in a stationary position for the majority of the day.
• Operate company software and systems independently.
• Typing or writing dexterity sufficient for daily tasks.
• Ability to lift up to 26lbs.
• May be exposed to moderate noise levels from computers, audio, and telephone.
