YOU

As a Component Manufacturing Implementation & Support Specialist – Truss Design, you will oversee the consultation, implementation, training and support of Simpson Strong‑Tie’s component solutions software. You will work alongside branch sales representatives to identify opportunities and provide software solutions for current and prospective customers. You will play an integral role on the Component Manufacturing sales team and coordinate their efforts to align with overall objectives.

As the Implementation & Support Specialist you will work with Regional Sales Managers, Component Manufacturing teams, Marketing, and other TSRs to develop and coordinate sales strategies and programs; and communicate appropriate market trends and field intelligence to Management and Operations to ensure customer satisfaction.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Manage the customer software implementation process, develop and manage implementation schedule, establish customer success measures, advise on best practices, install and configure system, develop, document, and facilitate end‑user training. (50%)
  • Act as liaison between customer and our software product and development teams, translate end‑user requirements and issues into technical requirements, assist internal teams in testing new features, and work with customers on enhancement deployment and validation. (15%)
  • Coordinate projects with Design Services and Component Review Services teams, working closely with internal and external customers to document, schedule, manage, design, and review projects. (15%)
  • Provide ongoing post‑implementation support and training of IC software systems, including assisting Help Desk with existing customer support needs. (10%)
  • Collaborate with the sales team, assist in client needs assessment, advise on technical capabilities of our software for demonstrations, and identify technical requirements to ensure the software meets customer needs. (10%)
Desired Skills And Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3‑5 years of design and engineering of prefabricated metal plate‑connected wood trusses and/or EWP; understanding of wood‑framed construction practices, details, related building codes and design standards preferred.
  • Ability to make sound business judgments.
  • Creative and innovative thinking when contributing to objectives.
  • Decision making and judgment, balancing analysis, wisdom, experience, and perspective.
  • Mathematical reasoning to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Problem solving ability to identify options and evaluate strengths and weaknesses.

  • Customer focus, building and sustaining productive relationships.
  • Relationship building, collaboration across departments.
  • Organization and prioritization, managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Computer/Software/Technology:
    Using Microsoft Office, working knowledge of SQL databases, basic understanding of computer networking and troubleshooting.
Physical Requirements And Work Environment

The role requires standing, walking, sitting, seeing, talking, and hearing, with occasional pushing or lifting up to 50 lbs. The position operates in a professional office environment, customer sites and outdoor construction job sites, uses standard office equipment, and may involve moving mechanical parts. Noise level may be loud at times.

Travel

Approximately 60% domestic travel.

Work Status & Location

Full‑time, exempt position located in the Southeast region near a major metropolitan area; eligible for remote work.

Relocation is not available for this position.

Pay

$71,900 - $115,000 per year.
