Online Sign Language Interpreter - NY

Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A contract opportunity is available for a Sign Language Interpreter specializing in telehealth services within a school setting. This role focuses on facilitating effective communication for students and staff requiring sign language interpretation through remote platforms.

• Providing accurate and clear sign language interpretation during telehealth sessions and other educational activities
• Supporting communication between students, educators, and healthcare professionals via virtual platforms
• Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism throughout all assignments
• Collaborating to ensure accessibility and inclusivity for hearing-impaired individuals within the school environment

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with demonstrated interpreting skills
• Experience interpreting in educational or telehealth settings preferred
• Strong understanding of telecommunication technology related to remote interpreting
• Excellent communication skills and ability to adapt to various needs and environments
• Previous contract or temporary assignment experience in similar roles considered a plus
