Therole combines linguisticprecision with deepsports knowledge, creative writing, and editorial judgment. You’ll help ensure terminology, tone, and messaging feelnatural and relevant to local footballfans. Working independently, you’ll contribute tohigh-volume localizationprojects while following established quality and style guidelines. • Review, translate, localize, fact-check, andadapt sports-related content, with aprimary focus onfootball, from USEnglish into German.
• Perform quality controlon audiovisualand multimedia contentwhile maintaining accuracy, consistency, tone, and adherence to applicablestyle guides.
• Research German-marketcontent, terminology, product trends, and localizationpractices to ensure content resonates withthe target audience.
• Provide constructive feedback on localized and written content toi mprove linguisticquality andaudiencerelevance.
• Adapt language and editorial style to different audiences, includingfootball fans, youngeraudiences, and contemporarypop-culture communities.
• Manage an expectedweekly weighted volumeof approximately 2,000–5,000 words while maintaining high standards of accuracy and consistency.
• Apply strong proofreading and editingjudgment to identifygrammatical, stylistic,cultural, and factualissues.
• Work independently ina remote environment and manage assigned workloads, deadlines, and quality expectationseffectively.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience,with 2+ yearsof experience in linguistics, translation, localization, sports journalism, copywriting, copy-editing, or a related field.
• Extensive knowledge ofsports, particularly football, with the abilityto understand relevantterminology, competitions, teams, players, andfan culture.
• Native-level fluencyin German and excellent grammar, writing, editing, and proofreading skills in thetarget language.
• Professional experience translatingor localizing multimedia content; experience with machine translation an devaluation is an advantage.
• Strong creative writing skills and the ability to adaptvoice, tone, and messaging naturally for German-speaking audiences.
• Excellent research andfact-checking abilities, with strong attention to linguistic and factual detail.
• Practicalproficiency with computers, mobile devices, word-processing applications, spreadsheets, and other common digital tools.
• Ownership of alicensed version of Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, manage high-volumeassignments, and maintain consistent quality ina remote setting.
• Published sports-related work for outletssuch as ESPN, The Athletic, Four Four Two , or comparableplatforms is astrong advantage.
• Experience with sportsmedia platforms, live-score applications, sportsstreaming services, orsimilar digital product sis desirable.
• Familiarity with GenZ communication, football fan culture, andpop-culture language is a plus.
