Overview

Milber Makris Plousadis & Seiden, LLP, a multistate full-service civil litigation defense firm and business partner to the insurance industry, is seeking a highly motivated Connecticut practicing defense attorney. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing, dynamic firm that offers a great working environment and potential for advancement. We are looking for the right candidate to join our team in a remote work position.

While this role is based remotely, it requires regular travel to various locations, including but not limited to, in person attendance at hearings, inspections, depositions, mediations, and trials throughout the state of Connecticut.

• Connecticut practicing lawyer with 4-5+ years' insurance defense litigation experience. New York admission a plus but not required.

• J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school
• Admitted to practice in Connecticut and in good standing
• Exhibits an in-depth knowledge of Connecticut Court Rules and Procedures.
• Demonstrated excellence in research, writing, and legal analysis
• Strong work ethic and ability to manage caseload and work in a team environment
• Highly detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Extensive experience conducting and defending depositions, drafting and arguing substantive motions, attending hearings and trials

• Managing caseload (with oversight by partners depending on experience level)
• Drafting motions, pleadings, and discovery responses
• Research and writing of memorandums
• Reporting to clients
• Attending hearings and court conferences
• Conducting and defending depositions
• Attending inspections
• Consulting with expert witnesses
• Attending mediations
• Trial preparation and trials
