Associate – Criminal Defence (1–4 Year Call)

For 33 years, Mines & Company has been a leading criminal defence firm located in Downtown Vancouver. We are a client-focused practice representing people across a broad spectrum of criminal law and criminal‑adjacent matters. We are currently seeking an ambitious and organized lawyer (1 – 4 year call) to join our growing team.

• Full‑time salaried position; anticipated start date April 2026.
• Competitive remuneration through a bonus incentive structure based on performance, in addition to $65,000 - $90,000 annual base salary (commensurate with experience).

• Member in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia.
• 2 - 4 years of experience practicing criminal law. Articling experience in criminal law will be considered.
• Organizational ability and independence to manage own caseload of clients.
• Conducted solo trials or juniored on complex criminal litigation.
• Strong interpersonal and people skills.
• Flexibility to assist senior counsel on complex legal matters.
• Willing to attend courthouses in Lower Mainland and throughout British Columbia.
• Experience and technical proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite an asset.
• Preference given to applicants with job experience in the criminal justice system, conducting investigations, and/or undergraduate degree in Criminology/Criminal Justice.
