Job DescriptionNigh Goldenberg Raso & Vaughn, PLLC is a rapidly growing plaintiffs’ law firm with an immediate opening for a full-time Paralegal. We specialize in representing individuals harmed by defective medical devices, dangerous medications, sexual assault, and environmental disasters.
This role is ideal for an experienced paralegal who is comfortable managing complex litigation matters, particularly mass tort cases, and working closely with attorneys to move cases efficiently toward resolution.
The Paralegal is responsible for independently managing litigation tasks from case intake through settlement and/or trial preparation, while providing high-level support to attorneys and senior paralegals.
Responsibilities- Independently manage and maintain litigation files for assigned mass tort and individual cases
- Draft, prepare, file, and serve legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, petitions, and settlement-related filings
- Coordinate with co-counsel, defense counsel, courts, and vendors on litigation matters
- Conduct detailed reviews of medical records, employment records, billing records, and other case materials to evaluate claims and damages
- Assist attorneys with case strategy, discovery planning, and trial preparation
- Track and monitor statutes of limitations, court deadlines, discovery deadlines, and other critical dates
- Maintain consistent and professional communication with clients regarding case status and next steps
- Oversee and assist litigation assistants as needed, including delegating tasks and reviewing work product
- Participate in strategy meetings with attorneys and senior staff
- Support settlement administration and lien resolution efforts as needed
- Assist with additional litigation-related projects as assigned
Training will be provided on firm-specific processes and case management systems; however, candidates are expected to have a strong working knowledge of state and federal litigation procedures.
Compensation DetailsFull-time salaried position. Competitive benefits package includes health, dental,and vision insurance,401k, disability insurance and FSA/HSA plan. This is a remote position, with the requirement to attend one in-person meeting a week at our Pensacola, Florida location.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree Required
- Prior mass tort litigation experience required
- Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience preferred
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Fluent with Microsoft Officeand Google applications
