Trusts & Tax Solicitor (Private Client) | Ideally 3+ PQE
Permanent | Full-time (37.5 hours) | Hybrid working | Location flexible
I’m currently working with a well-established UK law firm to recruit a Trusts & Tax Solicitor into its Private Client team. This is a permanent, full-time position (37.5 hours per week) and the firm is flexible on location
, with hybrid / home working options available.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing Private Client team and build a long-term career advising on trust and tax matters as part of a collaborative practice.
The roleReporting to partners, you will assist with and manage a caseload covering:
- Trust settlements, trust administration and associated specialist tax advice
- Drafting trust documentation and relevant supplementary instruments
- Delivering work in a commercially effective manner, with minimal supervision
- Maintaining high levels of client service and building strong client relationships
- Supporting the team’s profile and contributing to business development activity
- Adhering to agreed quality procedures and management systems
- Developing technical and non-technical skills in line with client and firm needs
- Some travel and occasional out-of-hours working for meetings, training and business development
You will ideally offer:
- Strong Private Client experience,
ideally a minimum of 3 years PQE - Practical experience of a broad and varied caseload, including:
- creating settlements
- managing and administering trusts
- drafting supplementary trust documentation
- providing specialist tax advice during the trust administration period
- Sound knowledge of wider private client matters, alongside your trusts/tax focus
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to your career
- Evidence of supporting business development across a team or firm
- Working knowledge of case management systems and Microsoft Office
- Leadership / management experience to support the growth of a trusts offering (advantageous)
- Team-oriented, with a hands-on approach
- Organised, able to plan workload effectively and meet deadlines
- Calm, rational problem-solver with good judgement
- Confident and diplomatic with clients and stakeholders
- High integrity and discretion
