Introduction
Latitude Legal is seeking California‑licensed Litigation Attorneys with at least 3 years of experience to join a nationally recognized California insurance defense and trial firm on a full‑time, permanent basis in one of the firm’s Northern California offices. The ideal candidate will be based in Northern California and may work on a hybrid or remote basis, with the flexibility and willingness to come into the office periodically for collaboration, hearings, or team needs.
The firm is hiring across levels, from Associate (3–8 years of experience) to Senior Counsel (8+ years), and is open to strong litigators who can manage cases with increasing independence.
- Manage active California civil litigation matters from early case assessment through resolution, including discovery, law and motion, depositions, mediation, and trial preparation
- Draft and argue motions; take and defend depositions; appear in court independently as needed
- Evaluate liability, damages, and exposure early, and develop practical defense strategies aligned with carrier and business objectives
- Work directly with clients and claims professionals, providing clear, strategic updates and budget‑conscious case management
- Collaborate with partners and attorneys across offices on complex or high‑exposure matters
- For senior attorneys: provide case oversight, mentor junior lawyers, and contribute to trial preparation and strategy development
- California‑licensed attorney with 3+ years of civil litigation experience, ideally including insurance defense or comparable high‑volume litigation
- Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload with increasing independence, including handling discovery, drafting and arguing motions, and taking/defending depositions
- Comfortable supporting and preparing cases for trial, with direct trial or second‑chair experience strongly valued
- Strategic, detail‑oriented, and capable of evaluating cases beyond surface‑level analysis, identifying risk, leverage points, and early resolution opportunities
- Strong writing, analysis, and client communication skills
- Familiar with litigation billing and timekeeping requirements
- Professional, responsive, and able to manage assignments independently in a remote/hybrid setup
- Licensed to practice law in California and in good standing
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Located in Northern California and willing to come into the office as needed

- Pay:
The salary range for this role is $115,000 – $190,000, plus applicable bonuses. Pay is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand. - Benefits:
