We are currently looking for a Counsel - REMOTE. In this role, you will defend lawsuits filed in California courts and represent first-party insurance defense cases. Your expertise will directly impact the company's legal strategies and the support offered to our clients. You will research laws, prepare legal documents, and engage in courtroom activities, ensuring quality legal representation. This remote position allows you to work flexibly while making a significant contribution to our partner's mission of delivering exceptional service to customers.

- Researching laws and preparing legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda
- Rendering opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department
- Preparing and handling pleadings, motions, and discovery
- Defending assigned matters through trial or dispositive hearing
- 7+ years of litigation experience in insurance/defense or personal injury REQUIRED
- Juris Doctor degree REQUIRED
- Admission to the California Bar REQUIRED
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to follow complex instructions and resolve conflicts
- Experience in civil litigation preferred
- Must be licensed in good standing to practice law in California
