Staff Counsel, Insurance Defense; REMOTE

Trial Attorney for a Nationwide Insurer

Salary: $140,000 - $190,000 per year.

• Evaluate lawsuits to gather all relevant information and devise legal strategies for defense
• Identify potential risks to policyholders or the company
• Create and execute a suitable plan for collecting evidence and file necessary motions
• Prepare for and attend all court proceedings related to cases, including trials and arbitrations
• Regularly communicate with policyholders and claims representatives about case progress
  
  Prepare and present legal opinions on claims matters
• Participate in negotiation and settlement discussions with external parties

• Hold a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Member of the CA bar
• Must have first or second chair trial experience
• Must have insurance defense experience, ideally automobile, personal injury, and premises liability
• Demonstrated ability to handle a demanding workload and prioritize tasks
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
