Our client is a Vancouver law firm specializing in estate administration, trust and estate planning, tax planning, and estate/tax litigation. They are seeking an experienced Legal Administrative Assistant (LAA) to join their tax and trust planning team and work closely with their lawyers.
The OpportunityThe successful candidate is a confident communicator who can carry complex files from beginning to end, exercises sound business judgment, and maintains confidential communications. The role requires strong collaboration with lawyers and staff—both in person and remotely—within a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities- Drafting: Prepare and revise correspondence and legal documents.
- Practice Administration: Maintain all administrative functions of the practices.
- Searches: Perform corporate searches, land title searches, and conflict searches.
- File Management: Maintain electronic and physical files in accordance with standard procedures, including file openings and closings.
- Calendaring: Maintain calendars and coordinate scheduling as needed.
- BF System: Maintain a bring‑forward (BF) system to track deadlines and next actions.
- Accounting Support: Provide support for accounting and billing (including time entry).
- Client Communication: Communicate professionally with clients.
- Experience: At least three years of corporate LAA experience.
- Client‑Centric: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and a service‑oriented approach.
- Organization & Accuracy: Remarkable organizational skills; high degree of accuracy and exceptional attention to detail.
- Technical: Excellent technical and word‑processing skills.
- Judgment & Discretion: Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain discretion and confidentiality, and handle a high level of responsibility.
- Composure: Ability to multi‑task and remain calm under pressure.
- Mindset: Self‑motivated, positive, team‑player attitude, with a drive to exceed expectations.
- Salary Range: $60,000 – $68,000 CAD. Placement within the range will depend on experience, relevant skills and qualifications, and internal equity.
- Remote Benefits: Possible 2-days work from home after probation.
