Legal Counsel, Legal Secretary
The Legal and Governance (LGG) Central division plays a crucial role at Macquarie, focused on protecting the organisation and delivering robust legal and governance services. Within LGG is our collaborative and dynamic Operations team dedicated to driving excellence in governance, legal operations, and technology enablement across the organisation.

What role will you play?In this role, you will manage end to end processing of sensitive third party information requests including subpoenas, law enforcement inquiries, court orders, and regulatory notices, within the Group General Counsel’s Office. You will review and triage each request to validate scope, authenticity, and procedural compliance while applying strong legal judgement across multiple jurisdictions and business units. You will also coordinate closely with Legal, Compliance, Records Management, and Risk teams to ensure responses are timely, accurate, and compliant with organisational obligations.
Whatyou offer
- 4–6 years paralegal/legal assistant experience in legal or regulatory environments.
- Demonstrated capability handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Familiarity with legal processes (subpoenas, court orders, regulatory notices).
- Experience in central case management system - log, track, and maintain.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and stakeholders under pressure.
