Legal Assistant

Congenial law firm is seeking a REMOTE part-time Legal Assistant to join their Bay Area team. This role requires someone who is detail-oriented, with extensive experience in litigation support and a strong understanding of legal procedures. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing critical tasks efficiently. This role will ideally be 20-25 hours/week. The hourly range for this remote position would be $30-45/hr.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and assemble motions, tables of contents, and tables of authorities with precision and accuracy.

- Handle electronic court filings across various platforms while ensuring compliance with legal requirements.

- Manage litigation calendars to track important deadlines and court dates effectively.

- Coordinate and organize court filings to support attorneys in ongoing cases.

- Maintain detailed documentation and records related to litigation processes.

- Collaborate with attorneys and other legal staff to ensure seamless workflow and task completion.

- Provide administrative support in civil litigation matters, including document formatting and proofreading.

- Monitor and prioritize tasks to meet strict deadlines and deliver high-quality work.

- Adapt to changing workloads and take on additional hours when necessary.

Requirements - Minimum of 5 years of experience as a litigation assistant.

- Proficiency in e-filing systems and familiarity with court filing procedures.

- Strong understanding of civil litigation processes and legal documentation.

- Exceptional organizational and calendar management skills.

- Ability to prepare tables of contents and authorities with high attention to detail.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Capability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced legal environment.

- Flexibility to adjust hours based on workload and team needs.
