Job Summary

We are seeking an Attorney to join our busy consumer bankruptcy law firm. In this role, you will provide legal counsel, perform legal research, draft documents, attend court hearings, and maintain files. You will work closely with administrative staff, colleagues, and senior partners to deliver excellent legal services to our clients. If you are a self-starter with a passion for helping debtors, we want to hear from you.

The salary range is $90,000-$120,000, depending on experience. We will consider attorneys with a portable practice.

Responsibilities

• Prepare contracts, briefs, motions, and other legal documents
• Conduct legal research
• Prepare for and attend legal proceedings
• Provide legal counsel alongside senior associates
• Negotiate on behalf of clients
• Maintain detailed and accurate client records
• Supervise paralegals and administrative staff

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and passing the bar exam
• Member of the Maryland Bar
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Familiarity with Best Case software (preferred)
• Working knowledge of consumer bankruptcy law
• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues
