Job Title: Hearing Officer / Administrative Hearing Officer
Pay
: $36 per hour

: 100% Remote (U.S.
-based; out-of-state candidates accepted)
Schedule
:
Full-time | 40 hours per week
Contract to perm role, 8 weeks before conversion.
OverviewSeeking experienced Hearing Officers to independently conduct administrative hearings and issue well-reasoned, legally sound written decisions. This role requires prior hearing officer experience and strong competency in evaluating evidence, applying administrative procedures, and ensuring due process.
Key ResponsibilitiesConduct administrative hearings (in person or by telephone), including questioning parties, managing the hearing record, and making evidentiary rulings
Control the course of hearings to ensure fairness, efficiency, and compliance with administrative procedure
Perform legal and regulatory analysis and issue clear, legally correct written decisions
Provide guidance to parties regarding the hearing process and assist them in navigating procedures effectively
Investigate and respond to inquiries or customer complaints related to hearings
Follow up to ensure timely implementation of issued decisions
Required Experience & QualificationsPrior service as a Hearing Officer is required (candidates without this experience will not be considered)
Demonstrated experience analyzing testimony and evidence and issuing written administrative decisions
Strong familiarity with administrative law, regulatory frameworks, and due process requirements
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Preferred QualificationsJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school (preferred, not required)
Experience applying regulatory frameworks to factual records
Background in administrative tribunals or similar adjudicatory settings
