In Office Position – Roanoke, VA

This position will be responsible for important work including preparing documents, coordinating and interacting with clients, other attorneys and judges. This includes drafting petitions, counterclaims, preparing motions and doing mandatory disclosure including financial affidavits and discovery responses, setting hearings, depositions, mediations and final hearings/trials. The position requires close communication with clients, organization and maintenance of electronic client files, and drafting correspondence to the Court and other attorneys.

Follow up, follow through and attention to detail are very important. The ability to calendar and observe deadlines is mandatory. Teamwork is important in this position, as we are a small team and we all work together. We are looking for an independent worker who knows what to do and takes charge without being told what to do every step of the way.

You must have a minimum of 3-5 years experience in Family Law. Clio experience would be ideal, but we will consider a fast learner with other case management software experience. A good command of the English language and the ability to write well is important. You must be able to work in multiple computer systems and databases and willing to learn our established systems.

While this is a primarily in-office position, paralegals may occasionally work from home.
