Job Description & How to Apply Below
We are seeking an experienced Family Law Associate Attorney to join our growing team. This role offers meaningful responsibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to handle substantive family law matters while being supported by experienced partners and a collaborative staff.
You will manage your own cases, appear in court, work directly with clients, and collaborate closely with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff. This position is ideal for a family law attorney who values independence, mentorship, and a balanced, flexible work structure.
Key Responsibilities:- Receive assignments from multiple partners, effectively prioritize tasks, and manage multiple matters simultaneously to meet deadlines.
- Independently handle court appearances and family law hearings on behalf of clients.
- Work both autonomously and collaboratively with paralegals, law clerks, attorneys, and administrative staff.
- Communicate clearly, professionally, and discreetly with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and consultants.
- Active license to practice law in California.
- 3 to 7 years of licensed family law experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Experience with Xspouse, Clio, Lawyaw, and Lawgic is preferred.
- Strong legal research skills with comfort using West Law, Attorney’s Briefcase, online research tools, and traditional reference materials.
- Excellent writing skills, including drafting motions, pleadings, correspondence, memoranda, and other legal documents.
- Flexible Work Environment: Attorneys primarily work from home, with one (preferably two) in‑office days per week and additional in‑office time as needed for client meetings, deadlines, hearings, and staff coordination.
- Strong Mentorship Culture: Senior attorneys invest significant time in mentoring associates, helping you sharpen your legal skills, judgment, and confidence in handling complex family law matters.
- Meaningful Work: You’ll handle real responsibility, make court appearances, and play a key role in guiding clients through some of the most important moments of their lives.
- Supportive Team Culture: We prioritize collaboration, respect, and discretion—creating a professional environment where attorneys can thrive without unnecessary hierarchy or burnout.
- Competitive Compensation & Rewards: In addition to a strong base salary, we offer performance‑based bonuses and long‑term financial benefits.
- Long‑Term Growth: We value retention and professional development, offering a stable platform for attorneys looking to grow their careers in family law.
- Starting Salary: $135,000 – $180,000 (commensurate with family law experience).
- Employer‑subsidized health and dental insurance.
- Paid vacation and sick time.
- Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Dependent Care FSA (DCFSA).
- Health Savings Account (HSA).
- Employer‑funded 401(k)/profit‑sharing contribution.
- Opportunities to earn quarterly, performance‑based bonuses.
