Role Description

This is a full-time Associate Family Law Attorney position. The ideal candidate will handle and manage a caseload with an emphasis on complex domestic relations matters, including divorce, child support, protective order cases, custody and child support cases.

This role offers substantial hands-on courtroom experience, regular client interaction, and the opportunity to manage cases from inception through trial under the guidance of experienced litigators. This is a full-time, in-office position at their downtown office in Richmond, VA. The firm fosters an environment of learning, mentorship, and professional growth, designed to help associates develop essential legal skills, sound judgment, and confidence in the courtroom.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four (4) years experience practicing law
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• Active member in good standing with the Virginia State Bar
• Minimum four (4) years of experience in litigation, preferably in criminal defense or domestic relations
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Confidence and professionalism in client interactions and courtroom appearances
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• A proactive, detail-oriented approach with strong organizational habits
• Commitment to ethical practice, client service, and continuous professional development
• Willingness to learn and work closely with senior attorneys in a collaborative, mentorship-focused setting
