Overview
Sughrue Mion, PLLC, an internationally recognized Intellectual Property law firm located in Washington, DC is seeking a patent prosecution specialist for the Information Disclosure and Formalities Department. This position will prepare and file various types of Information Disclosure Statements and other Formalities with the USPTO.
Responsibilities include:
- Prepare and e‑file information disclosure statements, and other formalities in the USPTO, maintain established productivity and accuracy standards, and ensure the adherence to policies and procedures that are designed to meet the specific requirements of the client.
- Prepare client correspondence and forms for attorney review and signature
- Prepare client demand bills and transmit with reporting letters
- Maintain accuracy and productivity standards as set by the Director of IP Services and the IDS Department Manager
- Maintain working knowledge of most current USPTO rules and procedures
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the IDS Department Manager
This position is located in the Washington, DC office. It is a remote position; however, employees may be required to come into the office from time to time for training, meetings, etc.
EducationCollege degree preferred. Additional secretarial, business or technical training helpful.
ExperienceMinimum of 1‑2 years of patent prosecution experience preferred.
