Overview
The Position: A leading global technology company is seeking a product counsel to support a high-impact monetization team. This attorney will serve as the primary legal advisor to a group of product managers focused on ads and monetization initiatives across a major social media platform. The ideal candidate brings strong in-house product counseling experience within a large tech company environment and deep familiarity with advertising and monetization products.
This role requires independence, sound judgment, and the confidence to own and escalate risk positions appropriately while partnering closely with fast-moving product teams.
- Provide product counseling and legal guidance to product managers focused on ads and monetization initiatives.
- Advise on risk identification, assessment, and escalation; partner with product teams to address regulatory, policy, and compliance considerations.
- Draft, review, and negotiate terms related to monetization features, ad products, and related platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners (legal, engineering, compliance, and product) to enable rapid and compliant product development.
- Help scale internal processes for scalable product counsel in a fast-moving environment.
- In-house product counseling experience within a large tech company or equivalent environment.
- Deep familiarity with advertising and monetization products and related regulatory considerations.
- Strong independent judgment, ability to own risk positions, and willingness to escalate when appropriate.
- Ability to partner effectively with product teams and other stakeholders in a dynamic setting.
The client is seeking to have someone in the seat by the beginning of May. 40 hours/week with an ongoing duration for up to 30 months max. Fully remote with a preference for West Coast-based candidates. The hourly rate for this assignment is expected to be between $100 and $108. This range is an estimate; compensation will be based on qualifications, skillset, relevant experience, project requirements, and other considerations allowed by law.
