Legal Research Attorney | Remote

Position: Litigation Associate

Type: Hourly contract

Compensation: $180–$200 per hour

Commitment: 10-20 hours per week

• Draft realistic legal research questions based on litigation scenarios encountered in active client matters
• Develop questions related to motions practice, procedural disputes, evidentiary issues, and appellate standards
• Ensure research questions require identification and synthesis of controlling authority
• Incorporate jurisdictional analysis and precedent application to defined fact patterns
• Frame questions that can be answered through professional legal research methods
• Avoid abstract academic hypotheticals and focus on practitioner-driven legal issues
• Maintain clarity and structure in written legal problem statements

• Professional experience in litigation practice at a reputable law firm
• Strong background conducting substantive legal research
• Experience preparing research memoranda, legal briefs, or dispositive motions
• Familiarity with analyzing jurisdiction‑specific precedent
• Clear and structured legal writing ability
• Exposure to appellate or complex litigation environments is beneficial
• Interest in legal technology, AI research, or dataset development is advantageous
