Associate Attorney - General Liability - Insurance Defense

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a junior to midlevel associate to join its insurance defense practice in Portland, OR. The position offers a fully remote work environment and requires strong research and drafting skills. The successful candidate will collaborate with partners and clients across Oregon and Washington, demonstrating independence and effective communication in a fast‑paced setting.

• Defend insureds in litigation matters, including general liability, personal injury, and commercial disputes.
• Manage all aspects of litigated cases, including pleadings, discovery, and trials.
• Conduct extensive legal research and draft briefs, memos, and pleadings.
• Represent clients in court and depositions.
• Collaborate with partners and clients to provide timely coverage advice.
• Manage deadlines and assignments independently.

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA‑accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in Oregon and/or Washington.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience preferred.
• Experience with depositions and mediations; trial experience a plus.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Professional demeanor with strong client‑relations skills.
• Responsive and organized, with multitasking abilities.

Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA‑accredited law school. Active license to practice law in Oregon and/or Washington.
