Summary
DLA Piper is seeking an Of Counsel to join our Litigation group, Business and Commercial subgroup. This position is open to our Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, DC, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, Raleigh, Short Hills, and Wilmington offices.
Bar AdmissionAdmitted to practice in the jurisdiction in which you are applying.
ExperienceMinimum of 8 years’ experience in M&A post-closing indemnity disputes and/or representations and warranty insurance disputes; experience with M&A transaction documentation and damages calculations.
Responsibilities- Communicates with clients.
- Supervises associates.
- Collaborates with experts.
- Assists with fact development and depositions.
- Reviews and drafts discovery responses, briefs, motions, and memoranda.
- Develops case strategy.
- Superior research, analytical, and writing skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to multi‑task and prioritize.
- Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
- Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties.
- Produce deliverables, answer phone calls, and reply to correspondence efficiently.
- Provide timely, accurate, and quality work product and meet deadlines.
- Foster positive work relationships and comply with all firm policies and practices.
- Engage in both physical and sedentary activity, including extended computer use and virtual conferences.
- Work under pressure and manage competing demands in a fast‑paced environment.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Primarily sedentary work: lifting up to 10 pounds occasionally or negligible force frequently; requires sitting most of the time.
Work EnvironmentHybrid: regular in‑office presence with some flexibility for work-from‑home.
PayThe firm’s expected hiring range for this position is $400,000 – $525,000 per year depending on geographic market location. A comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision insurance, and 401(k) is provided.
