The Director of Contracts serves as Lantana's senior contracts leader and is accountable for the review, drafting, negotiation, administration, and risk management of federal-government contracts, subcontracts, teaming agreements, nondisclosure agreements, consulting agreements, and other business agreements. This highly hands‑on role requires independently reviewing agreements in their entirety with exceptional attention to detail, identifying business risks, and redlining agreements with clear, well‑reasoned language that protects Lantana's interests.

The Director owns the contract review and negotiation process from initial assessment through execution. They use sound business judgment and strong negotiation skills to pursue favorable outcomes while maintaining collaborative relationships with stakeholders. The Director researches issues; provides clear redlines and recommendations; and engages other functions for review, feedback, and approvals when appropriate. They monitor changes to the FAR, agency supplements, and other applicable requirements and evaluate their effects on Lantana's obligations and processes;

implement or recommend necessary changes; and communicate requirements to responsible stakeholders.

The Director is responsible for build a high‑performing contracts function as the company grows. Initially, most of the role will involve direct contract and solicitation review, drafting, redlining, negotiation, and administration.

A successful candidate will do the following:
  • Lead the continued development and improvement of Lantana's contracts and compliance function by establishing and enhancing policies, procedures, controls, templates, and other tools
  • Oversee and administer the full lifecycle of all company contracts and subcontracts, including drafting, reviewing, redlining, negotiating, interpreting, and administering prime contracts, subcontracts, teaming agreements, non‑disclosure agreements, consulting agreements, and other contractual documents with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
  • Own internal contract reviews and independently identify inaccuracies, ambiguous or unfavorable terms, missing or unnecessary clauses and flow‑downs, compliance obligations, and legal, financial, operational, project delivery, information security, and other business risks. Resolve issues through clear proposed language and negotiation and elevate only material business decisions or risks that require executive approval
  • Lead contract negotiations and represent Lantana's interests with all stakeholders, balancing strong advocacy for favorable terms with practical judgment and collaborative, professional relationships
  • Review federal solicitations to identify contractual requirements, compliance issues, proposal risks, and develop organizational conflict‑of‑interest (OCI) proposal volumes and mitigation strategies
  • Lead subcontract solicitations, subcontract negotiations, and contractual aspects of cost and price analyses in coordination with Finance, Business Development, and project leadership
  • Research and interpret the FAR, agency supplements, statutes, and other applicable regulations, including unfamiliar or evolving requirements
  • Monitor regulatory changes; assess their effect on Lantana's contracts, compliance obligations, and business processes; and translate them into practical updates, guidance, and implementation actions
  • Serve as the company's compliance lead by overseeing the compliance program; ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory, and contractual requirements; and developing and delivering training and guidance to management and staff
