Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Senior Counsel to join its Family Law Practice Group in Kalamazoo, MI. This role is ideal for an attorney with a passion for litigation and client advocacy, aiming to build a long-term career in family law. Candidates with at least 3 years of litigation experience in areas such as criminal law or prosecution are encouraged to apply.

• Represent clients in domestic relations matters, including divorce and child custody.
• Appear at hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences.
• Draft pleadings and motions, and conduct legal research.
• Negotiate settlements and manage discovery.
• Provide compassionate counsel to clients.
• Assist with basic estate planning and trust matters.

• At least 3 years of litigation experience.
• Strong written and oral advocacy skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities.
• Admission to the State Bar of Michigan or eligibility to become licensed.

Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Licensed to practice law in Michigan.
