Gausnell, O'Keefe & Thomas LLC is a medium-sized civil defense law firm located in Lafayette Square in St. Louis, Missouri. Gausnell,The firm is seeking candidates with civil litigation experience in one or more of the following areas: transportation liability, premises liability, product liability, and general liability.

Licensure in Missouri and/or Illinois is required. Competitive benefits and compensation as well as hybrid work from home opportunities are offered after a training period.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated with strong communication, organizational, research, analytical and writing skills. The associate attorney should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and can handle a large volume of files along

with meeting strict deadlines.

Our associates have the opportunity to gain experience from a team of attorneys with many years of trial experience who provide an engaging environment for training and professional development. The associate can expect to be involved in all aspects of file workup including taking depositions, attending court hearings, and preparing pleadings, among other responsibilities as they arise.

• Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and agreements.
• Prepare correspondence to clients, attorneys, and other parties.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals to strategize case approaches.
• Manage case files and maintain accurate records of all client interactions.
• Attend depositions, court hearings, site inspections, meetings, etc.
• Other responsibilities as they arise.
• Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations relevant to practice areas.

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Missouri Bar.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
