Divorce & Child Custody Attorney

We are looking for a Divorce & Child Custody Attorney at an intermediate or senior level for a hybrid position that requires on‑site work in Kalamazoo three days per week. In‑person appearances for local courts may also be necessary.

Requirements: 1400 billable hours per year.

Base salary $110,000 to $140,000 per year, depending on experience, with bonus eligibility.

• Advocate on behalf of clients by understanding needs, analyzing situations, and forming a strategy
• Communicate with the managing attorney, legal assistant, and paralegals to move through the civil litigation process
• Draft pleadings, motions, contracts, marital settlement agreements, judgments, and orders for a high volume of cases
• Represent clients in court proceedings or depositions as needed

• Licensed to practice law in Michigan (or Indiana with a willingness to be admitted into Michigan)
• 4+ years in a litigation‑centered role with preference for family law experience
• Excellent courtroom and mediation skills
• Strong research, writing, analytical, and organizational skills
• Excellent planning, prioritization, and time‑management skills
• Experience managing multiple projects or cases simultaneously
• Independent thinker who knows when to seek team input; people oriented; honest with clients
• Prosecutors, legal‑aid attorneys, and public defenders encouraged to apply
