Note:

Must have an active New Jersey Bar license and 8+ years of directly relevant healthcare regulatory law experience. Candidates with 10+ years of experience will be especially well aligned with the senior counsel/partner-level scope.

Job Description
  • Advise healthcare providers, health systems, and related organizations on complex regulatory, compliance, and enforcement matters.
  • Counsel clients on controlled dangerous substances prescribing, telehealth, acceptable medical practices, Stark Law, Anti‑Kickback Statute, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, corporate practice of medicine, and related regulatory frameworks.
  • Develop practical risk mitigation strategies and provide guidance on evolving healthcare laws, regulations, and enforcement trends.
  • Advise on the regulatory aspects of healthcare transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, affiliations, and other strategic arrangements.
  • Handle and advise on government investigations, audits, and enforcement matters involving agencies such as OIG, DOJ, CMS, and state authorities.
  • Develop and deliver training and educational guidance on healthcare regulatory and compliance issues.
  • Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to identify, manage, and reduce legal and compliance risk.
  • Build and strengthen trusted client relationships while identifying opportunities to expand and grow the healthcare practice.
  • Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to the continued development of the team and practice.
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor degree required with strong academic credentials.
  • 8+ years of healthcare regulatory law experience required; 10+ years strongly preferred.
  • Active New Jersey Bar admission required.
  • Deep knowledge of Stark Law, Anti‑Kickback Statute, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, and corporate practice of medicine doctrines.
  • Experience advising healthcare providers, health systems, or related entities.
  • Experience with healthcare investigations, audits, enforcement, or regulatory agency interactions.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare compliance and regulatory risk.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and related healthcare privacy requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, judgment, and client relationship skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and demonstrated ability to contribute to business development and practice growth.
  • New York Bar admission, healthcare transactions experience, and prior government, prosecutorial, board, DAG, or regulatory advisory experience are strong advantages.
